A designer learning to build her own portfolio
This website is my first serious frontend build. Rather than hiding the process, I am documenting it.
What surprised me
Design tokens changed how I think about visual design. Defining --accent
once and never typing a hex value again felt like setting up a print colour
system before laying out a magazine.
The content system was the second surprise: writing a case study into a text file — no component edits, no code — made publishing feel like filling a form.
What broke
A YAML parser read [CONTENT NEEDED] as an array and crashed the whole
build. One pair of quotation marks fixed it. Lesson: every format has
grammar, even the "simple" ones.
What is next
More experiments in the playground, more notes here as I go.
